Production Ensemble

FSCC is pleased to introduce a new Production Ensemble team!

Production Ensemble is a large team of 20-30 skaters of ALL levels and ALL ages, skating together in an ice show format with costumes and props. Our 2011-2012 program will be based on the movie “Rio," with monkeys, birds, and an overall fun, tropical theme.  Anyone interested in skating together in a large group production is welcome--there is a spot for everyone, including beginner and advanced skaters, hockey players, youth and moms and dads!

The team plans to skate exhibitions at hockey games and/or seasonal outdoor skating rinks, and also plans to compete locally.  We are hoping to do our first exhibition at the Beach Waterpark on their outdoor rink during their Holiday Fest and hoping to perform in the Learn to Skate Cincinnati Holiday Show!  There will be more information on performances to come as things get confirmed. The Ensemble team also plans to compete against other ensemble teams. In a competition, the programs are judged on performance skills, not skating skills, although skating must be a significant part of the program (of course!).

Rehearsal Dates and Times

Our first rehearsal will be Sunday, October 16th from 6:00pm -7:30pm at the Cincinnati Gardens in the annex rink.  We will be on-ice from 6:00pm-7:00pm with a Q&A meeting off-ice until 7:30pm.

Regular rehearsals will be held on Sundays, on-ice from 6:00pm-7:00pm and off-ice until 7:30pm at the Gardens.  We have scheduled these rehearsals with consideration for those of us who will be coming directly from Learn to Skate classes at the Sphere.  At this point, the season runs from October 16, 2011 through February 5, 2012.  There will be no rehearsals 11/27/11, 12/25/11 or 1/1/12.

The Cincinnati Gardens is located at 2250 Seymour Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45212. Parking is on the West side of the building.  Walk across the sidewalk in front of the building to the East side, where the annex rink is located.

Fees

Based on 20 skaters, the cost for participating in Production Ensemble is $50/month. This includes ice time, coaching time, and entry fees for competitions. If more skaters participate, monthly fees will be reduced.

About the Coaches

The production ensemble team will be coached by Dori Murray. Dori has a background in show skating and will be doing the choreography for our team, with help from two very special guest coaches who will teach us acting skills and some Latin dance moves.
